First-time clients are asked to formulate a set of goals and determine a vision for achievement at One to One Wellness. Each client will receive medical and fitness assessments, and a questionnaire about personal and family health history so we can better understand his or her particular challenges. A One to One Wellness trainer will supervise a physical fitness test in which a client's body composition, cardiovascular performance, muscular strength, endurance and flexibility are determined. These tests help us to determine an individualized health and fitness program in accordance with the client's body type, current fitness status and personal goals. Clients will review test results with their trainers so that they understand their strengths and weaknesses. We refer to these results throughout the program to determine client success.
Performance Boot Camp
Personal Training & Performance
One to One Wellness clients can workout with trainers as often as they would like. Training sessions are both private and semi-private, allowing up to two people to exercise with a trainer at a time. Private sessions are structured to meet client needs as determined by a fitness assessment. Although programs are customized for each individual, most sessions include a combination of cardiovascular strengthening, weight training and stretching. Sessions are 55-minutes long, but clients are encouraged to come to the facility early or stay after their session in order to warm up and get the most out of their program.
Running and Gait Analysis
Scott Smith, the owner of One to One Wellness, is an avid runner and former competitive marathon participant. Inspiring runners, casual runners and the serious runner will all benefit from a comprehensive gait analysis. With the aid of video cameras from all angles, you will come to understand how the perfect stride can lead to more efficient running, yielding better running times and overall speed. Scott also spends time at the track with runners, working on timed drills and speed training. If you're ready to improve your running, then this is the right path for you...or read below and find out how ChiRunning can change your life!
Chi Running
Owner, Scott Smith, is a certified ChiRunning instructor. This form of running combines the grace, balance and focus of T'ai chi and the power and energy of running. Clinics are held throughout the year both in Jackson and elsewhere in the country. Level One clinics are designed to give you the basic principles behind ChiRunning, focusing on proper body alignment, breathing, and weight distribution. Level Two clinics take the concepts further and focus more on putting all of the information together and learning how to control your speed and self check your alignment while in motion. This is a great form of running for those that have always shyed away from it because they thought running is too painful or impactful. Check out the chi running website to learn more and read testimonials on the sport at www.chirunning.com

Active Isolated Stretching
Several years ago the crew at One to One Wellness discovered the health benefits of Active Isolated Stretching, otherwise known as AIS. Scott and most of the trainers at One to One Wellness have participated in clinics sponsored by Aaron Mattes, founder of the AIS philosophy. During an AIS session, each muscle group is isolated and stretched in a particular order to obtain increased flexibility and mobility. Scott has truly mastered the art of AIS and has helped dozens of people decrease lower back pain and increase their overall flexibility level. Increased flexibility helps not only in our day to day tasks as well as in sports-specific activities.
